Module 7 · Lesson 6 of 6
Listening practice: lecture and conversation
Two original practice tasks, a Part 1-style phone call and a Part 4-style lecture, plus a four-pass method that turns every recording into real listening progress.
In this lesson
- Use the four-pass method so that one recording becomes a test, a strict marking session and two rounds of ear training
- Complete an original Part 1-style form and an original Part 4-style set of lecture notes under test-like conditions
- Recognise lecture moves such as giving the plan, correcting an expectation and defining a term, and use them to find answers in notes that paraphrase the speaker
- Diagnose every lost mark with an error log and choose the right follow-up: dictation, shadowing, spelling or signpost practice
- Bridge the gap between a device voice and real recordings, with their range of accents and natural speed
