Module 7 · Lesson 2 of 6
Predict before you listen
A fast routine for the reading time before each part: predict the type of answer, expect paraphrase, follow signposts, then use it on an original Part 2-style talk.
In this lesson
- Use the short reading time before each part with the same five-step routine every time.
- Predict the type of answer from the grammar and meaning around each gap.
- Anticipate how a speaker will paraphrase the words printed on the question paper.
- Recognise signposting language and use it to keep your place or catch up.
- Apply the whole method to a Part 2-style note-completion task.
